What we do

Safe and secure innovation that utilizes sonar and in-vehicle cameras

In line with our policy of contributing to a society with zero traffic accidents, we are developing safe and secure innovations that utilize sonar and in-vehicle cameras.

ADAS*1 Autonomous Emergency Braking

Through sonar-based ranging technology and in-vehicle camera-based pedestrian detection technology, we offer brake control that prevents traffic accidents.

brake-system

This innovation provides the following three features.

  • Accident prevention during parking, where the likelihood of pedestrian-vehicle contact increases
This innovation prevents accidents during parking by using brake control, which combines sonar-based ranging technology and in-vehicle camera-based pedestrian detection technology.
  • Compliance with Japan’s mandatory “Acceleration Control for Pedal Error” requirement*2
Amid frequent accidents caused by drivers stepping on the accelerator pedal instead of the brake pedal, Japan will mandate the installation of this device starting in September 2028. As a nation, Japan is also proposing the global standardization of this technology through the United Nations World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29). The innovation we offer complies with the requirements for this device and technology.
  • Compliance with Euro-NCAP*3, a European automobile safety test
This innovation complies with Euro-NCAP, a European safety performance assessment often adopted by NCAP in countries around the world. This contributes to our customers worldwide by building a society with zero traffic accidents.
  • ADAS: Abbreviation for “Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems”
  • Mandatory requirement for “Acceleration Control Device for Pedal Error”: Effective September 1, 2028, the Safety Regulation for Road Vehicles will be revised. Under this revision, all passenger vehicles with automatic transmissions (i.e., passenger vehicles without clutch pedals), including electric vehicles, must be equipped with a device that complies with the “UN Regulation No. 175 (ACPE: Acceleration Control for Pedal Error).”
  • Euro-NCAP: Abbreviation for “European New Car Assessment Programme.” This is an automobile safety test conducted in Europe, and many countries and regions outside of Europe have also adopted this standard.

Vehicle Camera Module

Our innovative vision and sensing technologies are allowing drivers to see today’s roads more clearly, increasing safety and improving situational awareness.

Sonar Sensing System

Our Sonar Sensing System uses advanced, narrow directivity sensors to efficiently detect obstacles around the vehicle. This contributes to the development of a safe and secure automotive society.
