What we do
Wireless Chargers leading the next-generation international standards
Wireless Chargers allow you to charge smartphones, wireless earbuds, and other devices that use the Qi standard*1 simply by placing them on it. There is no need to connect dedicated cables and this keeps the vehicle’s interior clutter-free.
In order to achieve highly efficient wireless charging, it is necessary to align the charger and the device, as well as implement effective heat management. Our Wireless Chargers solve these problems by leveraging technologies cultivated for consumer product development. The total number of units produced since the first unit in 2013 has exceeded 10 million. We currently supply the product to car manufacturers from six locations worldwide, helping to create comfortable in-vehicle spaces for customers around the world.
Proprietary moving coil method improves accuracy of alignment during charging
Our Wireless Chargers use the electromagnetic induction method*2 that is compliant with the Qi standard. A common problem with this method is the loss of charging efficiency due to misalignment between the charger and the device. We have solved this problem by using our proprietary moving coil method.
Our moving coil technology uses a proprietary algorithm to automatically detect the device’s coil and align it with the charger’s coil, improving the accuracy of alignment during charging. By leveraging optical pickup technology cultivated for developing in-vehicle CD and DVD players, this technology enables optimal coil alignment between Wireless Chargers and devices, resulting in highly efficient charging.
In particular, smartphones presented unique challenges due to their frequent model updates. The coil position varies across models and must also accommodate the carrying cases. To address this, we expanded the charging area by 3.6 times using our proprietary algorithm. This enables highly efficient charging, even if the position is misaligned.
In addition, heat treatment and control technologies developed for home appliances and mobile phones are used to manage heat.
Contributing to the global standardization of the next-generation Qi standard
Our moving coil method has been adopted as a foundational technology for the Active Alignment Power Profile (APP), the next-generation Qi standard—the Qi standard is the international standard for wireless power transfer. We unveiled our APP-compliant models at the WPC booth during CES 2025.
Our APP-compliant Wireless Chargers maintain backward compatibility with existing products while supporting the latest standards for next-generation smartphones and smart devices, ensuring compatibility with both modern and traditional charging profiles.
- Qi is an international standard for wireless power transfer developed by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). Established in 2008 and comprising approximately 300 member companies worldwide, the WPC develops global standards for the safety, efficiency, and interoperability of wireless power applications.
- The induction method enables charging by generating an inductive flux between the power transmitting side (the charger) and the power receiving side (the device). Any misalignment between the transmitting coil and the receiving coil will significantly reduce charging efficiency.
